چکیده

The present study investigated the yield potential of fifteen varieties Garden pea from various sources across country. As there is no specific high yielding genotype recommended for cultivation in Bangalore region, which located on Deccan plateau, it a main challenge to identify suitable southern region Karnataka so as recommend similar situations. were evaluated and quality attributes at Department Horticulture, College Agriculture, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru, India between October- January 2019-20 2020-21. Most major contributing characters significantly differed experiment. Experiment was carried out by using Randomized complete Block Design tested, highest pod length (10.98 cm), weight (9.38 g), width (2.87 number per plant (19.35), pods (92.62 plot (3.15 kg), hectare (157.50 q ha-1 tonnes) recorded T10 (Arka Apoorva), green peas (9.87), T9 Karthik). Whereas T3 (Kashi Nandini) produced days first flower (41.56), fifty percent flowering (52.08) observed T7 (PSM-4). Pea being one most vegetable crops Rabi cultivation, identified could be raised farming community enhanced economic benefits.

Role of nitrogen content of pea (Pisum sativum L.) on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) establishment

The leaf nitrogen content is generally accepted as an indicator of food quality and as a factor affecting host selection by phytophagous insects. The alate pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris, Aphididae) were given a choice among non-nodulated pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) supplied with one of four nitrate-N levels (0, 3, 15 and 30 mM). When whole plants were exposed to aphids for 7 days, th...

The Yield and Yield Components of Pea (pisum Sativum L.) as Influenced by Salicylic Acid

The effects of 0 M, 10 M and 10 M salicylic acid (SA) applied by three different modes (seed treatment, seed treatment plus foliar spray and foliar spray) in four pea (Pisum sativum L.) varieties viz., Meteor, Climax, Greenfeast and Rondo were evaluated. Among the varieties the highest green pod yield of 5255 Kg ha was obtained in variety Meteor followed by variety Greenfeast (4452 Kg ha). The ...

Identification of Cytokinins of Root Nodules of the Garden Pea, Pisum sativum L.

Five cytokinin activities which induced soybean callus proliferation were detected in ethanol extracts of root nodules of the garden pea (Pisum sativum L., cv. Little Marvel). The most active factors among them were identified as zeatin and its riboside on the basis of their mobility on thin layer chromatography in three solvent systems. Smaller activities of zeatin ribotide, isopentenyladenine...

Pea (Pisum sativum L.) Growth Mutants

This review is devoted to the Pisum sativum L. growth mutants. These mutants are presented by several groups of plants. The first group is characterized by short internodes (dwarf mutants le, na, lk, la, lh, ls) or by elongated internodes (slender mutant sln). The stem growth of mutants of both types (dwarf and slender) is controlled by hormones (GA and IAA) in the stem or in seeds. Mutants cha...
